The Putnam Valley PTA is all about the involvement and participation of the entire family in a child's education. Programs that the PTA sponsors each year are largely group events that include moms, dads, and siblings, as well as community members, teachers, administrators, and Board of Education members.
Cranium Game Night, a 4th grade family event, was held on Friday, February 27, 2009, in the Putnam Valley Elementary School cafeteria. Like most family-centered grade-wide PV PTA events, Cranium Night began with pizza. Then each table formed a team and played Cranium, a game that involves a number of different skills. Fourth grade teacher and MC, Barbara Parmly, geared the game toward the 3rd and 4th grade curriculums. Veteran PTA volunteer Dana Lopez commented, "The kids have a lot of fun and it's educational too. Prizes included bags of books and the grand prize was a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card."
Kindergarten - 6th Grade Level Events
The PTA hosts grade level events for students in grade kindergarten through 6th grade and their families.
These special events are always well attended and fondly remembered by all.
We thank all of the volunteers for making these events the success they are.
